Noveltease Theatre, Seattle’s premier literary burlesque company, transforms The Knife Room into an underground nightclub where poetry, striptease, and live music combine in one happening evening. At It’s All Happening, burlesque dancers interpret poetry readings to the rhythm of a live band, creating a surreal and sublime experience where words are made flesh.

Each salon focuses on a different poetic movement, with a rotating cast of burlesque performers, bands, and featured poets to bring salacious sonnets, ribald rhymes, and comely cantos to life in an atmosphere of frivolity and intellectual curiosity.
Join us at The Knife Room on February 1 to celebrate Langston Hughes' birthday and the poets of the Harlem Renaissance, hosted by Noveltease Core Company member Cheeky Diamondz.

All shows start at 8 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. Come early to get your fill at Nordo’s famous mac-and-cheese bar and sip on specialty cocktails inspired by the poets themselves.
Tickets are $20 for each salon (food and drink not included), or you can purchase a season pass to all four of our 2020 happenings for $80.
